The technology of Laser Hair Removal have come along way from the days when dark haired, pale skin tones were the only suitable candidates. The beauty and medical industries move quickly and Laser Hair Removal clinics that manage to keep up to date with the advances in technology can now offer safe and effective laser hair removal treatments for a variety of hair colours and skin tones.
The latest Laser available in Peppermint Salon is the Elysion, which is the latest in aesthetic hair removal laser technology. Without boring you with too much technical details, its 3 wavelengths mean that all skin types and hair colours can be treated at any time of year with maximum effectiveness and safety.
The laser delivers high peak power (2000W) giving energy in ultra short pulses which is the only laser diode platform that can achieve pain free, multi-skin tone, ultra quick laser hair removal.
What to Expect From Laser Hair Removal?
Contrary to most ‘permanent’ hair removal claims, there is no treatment or equipment for absolute, permanent hair removal – none! However results from studies will show that around 90% of the hair can be removed and will not grow back.
Although it varies from individual to individual (and on what treatment area it is) a course of around 6-8 treatments is recommended for best results. The hair growth cycle occurs at different times so the idea behind multiple treatments is to target every hair eventually. A patch test is required. The patch test is used as a measure to ensure safe and effective laser settings are tailored to your individual treatment. One week after treatment the treated hair will have fallen out and the skin will be hair free for about 7 weeks at which point the next phase of hair growth arrives and you require your next treatment.
How Does Laser Hair Removal Work?
We offer free consultations with our expert technicians at Peppermint Salon to talk you through the treatment and offer advice about what is the best treatment plan for you.
The laser works when the light enters the skin and is absorbed by the melanin which surrounds the hair follicle. The laser targets the follicle, destroying the hairs root, ensuring the hair falls out.
